Braxton's Salvation - Stephani Hecht A Hearts On Fire ReviewTWO & A HALF STARS--"Braxton's Salvation" is book #3 in the Wayne County Wolves series set in Detroit by Stephani Hecht. I have not read this series before and would suggest to follow the series to fully get all of the secondary characters' references. I was slightly lost with certain things but nit so much that I had to grab the first two.Braxton is the title character, he's half breed (human/ wolf shifter), disabled, asthmatic and lonely. But he is not lonely for long when a former one-night stand saves him from near death and claims...he's his mate. His mate's name? Wright. And get this, Wright is also from a family of half breed shifters. Wright happens to also be a wolf shifter and on the run from the government. Wright is possessive and a bit stalker-ish but in a good way. And apparently has the more staid name in his family menagerie. (A sister named Defeat and three brother named Justice, Might and...Salvation! I wondered why the title wasn't just called Braxton's Wright instead. *shrug*)Their case of insta-love was to be expected. The men weren't exactly macho but there was only one crying jag so that's a plus. There were some parts where the author confused the characters being referred upon. So inturn, I git a little confused and the crime fighter names of Wright and Co. did jar reading at times. There's a mini-crisis, it gets resolved and the two men continue their love fest and there's a HEA. It's decent mindless fun. It was like chewing a fresh stick of bubble gum, good for the first couple of minutes but not extremely long lasting in remembering much story details. It's an okay read. I might visit this series again. The author had a few interesting future plot lines.
